Amanda & Charles

It has been quite some time since we’ve posted anything new on our blog. Although a blog is supposed to dive somewhat into the personal lives of “the blogger” we like to keep our personal lives somewhat guarded and away from our lives as photographers at times. Recently we suffered a loss in the family and needed time to regain ourselves before reentering the virtual world of blogging. So – here is the scoop:  We have been shooting a tremendous amount lately and right now as I (KLinh) compose this “blog entry” Evelyn is 20 feet across the studio trying to play catch up on a photo session due tomorrow morning.

Last weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Amanda and Charles engagement session. They are one of our new couples, so needless to say you will be seeing bits and pieces of their coverage throughout the next year. We decided to have their engagement session in the southern town of Newberry, SC. Like most of our sessions we like to shoot at the end of the day and into early evening. Stories just seem to be better told when they transition from light to dark.  A technical note to photographers out there: All background was lit via natural light and the subjects are lit via Pro-foto D1 strobes, Ettl-flash (580exII) or tungsten video light. Yep – we use them all!!

Off we go:

Let's start off with a "hero" shot

Don't you just love spring time fields.

Bradford Pears bloom once a year and only for a short amount of time.

Romance doesn't just happen - you have to look for it - then you have to photograph it.

Amanda is not a model

Charles is not a model either

Amanda & Charles are......

Fashionably in love

We told Charles to give us his most protective look....We ran away shortly after this photograph.

Every photograph tells a story......Here, the pages unfold within those pearls

Have you noticed that this photograph is the first kissing picture of the series? --- and it's not on the lips.

And then the night began to fall upon them

Can't let them get away without a silver tone hollywood style photograph.

Heroes always get the girl. Who says good guys finish last?

  1. I wish I could turn the clock back 25 years, so Ted and I can take pictures like these!
